Joshua and The Higher Calling Concert

Come to St. John’s United Church of Christ, Harmony on Saturday, July 8th at 3:00 to hear “Joshua and The Higher Calling”.  The concept of “Joshua and The Higher Calling” is to entertain people with the joy of Jesus.  This group performs songs of Tomlin, Redman, Camp, Maher and others.

This band consists of a lead singer; master storyteller humorist, 3 backup singers, violin, guitar, piano and bass player.

Many know the story and song, “Joshua fought the Battle of Jericho” this group is about not only knocking down the walls that are holding us down but creating bridges by performing joyful and uplifting music that applies to all Christian congregations.

The group starts the program with Christian Rock Concert Style and they break up the show with acapella singing where 4 voices sign without the band showing the gospel music from which popular Christian music grew. The program ends with a hybrid Christian rock concert/dance section.  In each of the sections there is humor and stories as “Joshua and the Higher Calling” not only performs but gets to know the audience.

There will be ice cream and popcorn so come join in and hear this newer group from Bensenville.  There will be a freewill offering. Come as you are weather permitting the concert will be held in the pavilion under the oak trees at the St. John’s UCC, Harmony located at 11821 East Grant Highway (Route 20), Hampshire.  Just north of the I-90 Hampshire Marengo exit and at the corner of Huntley Road and Route 20.
